Introduction: Postpartum trauma is a psychological condition experienced by mothers after childbirth due to traumatic birth experiences, such as medical complications, lack of emotional support, or experiences of violence during labor. This condition is at risk of causing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and affecting the well-being of both mother and baby. Purpose: This study aims to identify and analyze the experiences of mothers with postpartum trauma based on existing literature, and to explore the risk factors, impact, and approaches that can be used in managing the condition. Method: A literature review was conducted by reviewing relevant research articles from international databases such as Semantic Scholar. The research analyzed included studies published in the last 5 years with a focus on the experience of mothers with postpartum trauma. Result: Studies show that the experience of postpartum trauma is closely related to factors such as lack of family support, dissatisfaction with health services, labor complications, and unmet expectations during the birthing process. This trauma impacts maternal mental health, including an increased risk of postpartum depression, anxiety, and disruption of the mother-infant relationship. A multidisciplinary approach involving psychological support, family education, and improved quality of care has been shown to be effective in addressing these conditions. Conclusion: Postpartum trauma is a complex and diverse experience among mothers. Comprehensive interventions based on family support and healthcare professionals are needed to help mothers overcome the negative impact of this trauma. This study underscores the importance of recognizing and attending to mothers’ experiences as a first step in improving maternal and infant well-being
